Your online security is a top priority for Windsor Locks FCU. The launch of our new online identity verification feature for eStatements has now gone into effect. This new technology is designed to protect you from unauthorized access to your account online. This new security is called multi-factor authentication and is a required line of defense as dictated by the National Credit Union Administration and the United States Federal government. You must complete this sign on feature when you access your statements online. This new security feature is separate from the Multi-factor authentication for your internet home banking access.
How Multi-factor Authentication for eStatements Works:
When you enter your user id and password to log on to eStatements, you will get a screen that tells you “We were not able to authenticate this computer. The encrypted cookie is either missing or invalid. We will need to authenticate this computer.”
Step 1 – authenticate authentication type
Select the choice for social security number or business tax identification number and submit.
Step 2 – Complete the authentication process
Enter Social Security Number; date of birth; Account Number and submit. This information is authorized and protected by WLFCU and only serves the purpose of authenticating your computer for this service.
You will then be given access to your account statements. The next time you log in, you will be asked to choose and answer two challenge questions. Your authentication is valid for 180 days. At the end of that time period, you will be asked to answer a challenge question to recertify. As long as you can answer these questions, you will not be asked to enter account information again.
